JOHN NGUYEN PTIN System Down

Pending resolution of legal issues related to the January 18, 2013, order of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in Loving v. Internal Revenue Service, the PTIN registration system is temporarily offline until further notice. More information will be provided as it becomes available. The Internal Revenue Service has issued a statement regarding the court order.

The good news is that they are finally updating the RTRP exam status for those of us who took the exam prior to the Court ruling. I passed my RTRP on January 7, and am still waiting for my letter, however, upon logging into the PTIN site, I see that I am no longer marked as "Provisional," and am indeed listed as "Registered Tax Return Preparer." I'm still glad, however, that I'm pushing forward with my EA (one exam to go). ;-)
