STEPS FOR SCHEDULING YOUR EXAM WITH PROMETRIC

In order to sit for an enrolled agent exam, you will need a preparer tax identification number (PTIN). Please click here if you do not have a PTIN and plan to take the enrolled agent exam.

Before you schedule, we encourage you to read the 9 tips to help you pass the EA exam, doing so we feel will help!

Below are steps you may follow in case you have any questions on how to get started with your exams.

1. Visit the prometric website: https://www.prometric.com/
2. Hover over “Test takers” and click on “Find my Exam”
3. In the search window type in “special enrollment examination” and click “Go”
4. Click on “IRS Special Enrollment Examination”
5. First time users will need to create an account here and follow the instructions for creating an account and password: https://myaccount.prometric.com/login/IRS/IRS
6. Create your account: https://myaccount.prometric.com/account/createaccount/IRS/IRS
7. Once your account has been created, you may be prompted to login once more to schedule your exam: https://www.prometric.com/test-takers/search/irs click on “Schedule” Then the orange “Schedule Test Center” button associated with the exam you plan to take.
8. You will be prompted to read some terms and conditions and confirm you are at least 18 years of age:
9. Next you will be asked if you are pre-approved for Testing Accommodations, if you do not require any assistance check “no” . What are testing accommodations? Tests can be scheduled with additional accommodations such as assistive equipment or a separate room, but must be approved. If you require additional accommodations for your test please contact your Test Sponsor. If your Test Sponsor has not provided you with an eligibility number, please select ‘No’ and continue.
10. Next choose your desired exam location and date of testing:
11. From here you will see available testing centers to schedule your exam.
12. Click on your desired date and time.
13. From here click on the right green next arrow and confirm your desired exam selection date, time, and location is accurate before you make payment.
