CPA Exam Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree with 150 hours is required to sit for the exam Candidates can receive ""provisional"" approval to sit while completing requirements.
Citizenship: Citizenship is not required.
Residency: Residency is not required.

Here’s what you need to become licensed in the state of Illinois.

Education: Bachelor's Degree of 150 semester hours is required.
Experience: 1 year general experience in government, industry academia or public practice.
Ethics: AICPA Ethics examination is required to be licensed.
